Sharjah International Biennial For Children's Art - 2008

G. S. Sudhindra son of G.R. Subramanya hailing from Bengaluru – Karnataka has won the prestigious international bronze award at Sharjah International Biennial for Children's Art – 2008 organized by the General Department of Children and Girls Centers of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs, Government of Sharjah, United Arab Emirates, under the noble patronage of HH Sheikh Jawahir Bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, chairperson for the Supreme Council for Family Affairs in Sharjah.

24 countries participated in the event, whereas 1800 out of 3332 arts works were displayed at Sharjah Arts Museum, Some of the countries participated are:

Australia, Brunei, Bulgaria, Egypt, Emirates, India, Iraq, Iran, Jamaica, Jordan, Korea, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Mexico, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Syria,Turkey, Yemen and many other Arabic and foreign countries.

The awarding ceremony was held at Rajyabhavan, Bengaluru on July 30th 2008 at 1 pm The winner was honored by His Excellency Shri Rameswara Takur Honorable Governor of Karnataka.

The prize carries cash award of 1000 Dinnars (UAE) [ Rs. 11,650 /-] and certificate.

Chandana Art Foundation International (CAFI) ® - Bengaluru: was responsible for organising the event in India and forward the selected artworks as entries to Sharjah International Biennial for Children's Art – 2008 representing India.

Chandana inspires learners of all ages to be creative, imaginative, artistic and cooperative especially children. Chandana is the nation's child art and creativity organization. Chandana also serves as umbrella for an expanding worldwide network of professionals and learning institutions.
